Jim Jenkins who is an MICM (Grad) and Secretary for the ICM Merseyside and North Wales Branch recently attended the Diploma Course in Cardiff and assessed the last 30 exam papers.
This is what Jim has to say about the Diploma Course in Credit Management:
“To be a successful Credit Manager it is a good idea to have a full understanding of credit management and this can be achieved in the longevity you stay in the job and there are quite a few books on the subject matter available or you can learn more yourself by taking a Credit Management Training course.
Experience is all good and well but by joining a group of credit professionals on a Diploma Course is one sure way of gaining knowledge which will benefit your current employer and future employers, but more importantly it will help YOU!
Attending one of these courses will give you much more knowledge and understanding of credit management and importantly, will give you much more confidence to work on a day-to-day basis than you could possibly imagine.
Taking a professional qualification is an indication of your own personal objectives to achieve in the world of credit and success is guaranteed. The rewards you will reap are amazing - just ask anybody who has attended one of these courses. Yes they are intense and hard work, but very worthwhile.
If you want to gain a Diploma in a relatively short time why don’t you think about signing up for the Diploma Course in Credit Management! It only requires FIVE working days, but of course it is obvious you would have to put in some extra time of your own, but it is worth it for the rewards you gain.
Over the month you will learn so much, as the course covers all aspects of the importance of Credit Management. Communication skills are essential for a successful Credit Manager, verbal and written, come and learn how to do the job more professionally than you possibly are already!
Credit Risk is so important in the current climate. Learn how to read and understand a balance sheet and profit and loss account, how to work out the key financial ratios, how to set credit ratings and manage credit risk, learn the Legal aspects of the job, understand Insolvency, how to do pre-action checks and legal protocol for the job, completing legal forms, which can be baffling at times, collection techniques which could influence customers to pay your bills sooner! There is also an Export overview, which covers country and political risk, letters of credit, bills of exchange and other foreign documentation. Help yourself to reduce your DSO’s at work.
The presenters have all been involved in the credit and legal profession and are there to help and pass on their knowledge and experience to you. Along with high quality course notes you are more than prepared for the examination on day five of the course!
Attending will give you more than an insight into practical issues relating to Credit Management. You will most definitely receive helpful tips you could put into use at your place of work during the course itself. You will be surprised as to how quickly you start learning new ideas.
Now this might sound a little fast and furious, but since Steve Savva has run these courses there has been much success with many students achieving distinctions. Yes as stated earlier, it is rather intense, but with hard work and determination you can achieve!
Don’t forget you are not alone and you would be joining a group of similar minded professional people in the classroom and it has been proven that strong friendships have been formed and continue well after the course finishes. Everyone wants to achieve success and the course is exciting, exhilarating and rewarding.
Without even knowing it you will find yourself developing good habits.
Your employer will notice the difference in your standard of work and how you change for the better by being part of the course. Yes, this can really happen and it does, frequently.
Can you face the challenge? Join one of the next Diploma Courses and find out how it will benefit you on the road to success, have better recognition in your workplace, become qualified with a Level 4 Certificate, have designated letters MACP (Diploma) after your name and feel how a well trained Credit Professional is motivated and focussed and achieves results.”
